Wünschen Dir Heio, Carsten und Vio
If there was a motto for the last weekend, it’s name is Kai. Kai, a colleague (Frankfurt) and friend of Heio, arrived last friday, staying for one week. It’s his first time in Shanghai and as well our first “have a try” to show someone around in the city. Retrospectively both, our guest and us, are quite satisfied. Friday we started with our great program: After work we met up at a very nice thai restaurant at the Ruijin Hotel Park, right in the center of the French Concession. Weather was stunning, so everyone seemed to be outside, having a drink in the bar at the place we went to. Later we had a few drinks in the crowd outside too, to get some fresh air. Saturday morning Kai and Carsten were invited to have continental breakfast at our home. Afterwards we started our trip through the city. We first went to the Confucius Temple, located in the old town. To get there, we had to cross one of these bustling markets, where people sell everything from shoes to animals. Ongoing we took a walk at the remaining old town of Shanghai. While we had a look at the map we noticed, that from last September - when we’ve been to Shanghai - till today they pulled down nearly three-quarters of the old houses in that area. We were just wondering why we couldn’t find one particular street. It was simply not there anymore. Instead of we passed several huge construction sides, where now rise up skyscrapers everywhere. Next: From the Bund we took the ferry to Pu Dong, where we had a drink at the Jin Mao Tower’s top floor, the bar called cloud 9. The view is indescribable, just great!- Heio and me are preparing for our little escape backpack trip to Thailand next week. We’re probably go there on monday night, staying for six days to catch some sun. We will go to an island near Phuket, called Koh Yao Noi, but far away from the crowds. What we will be doing there? First - snorkeling! We will be in the middle of a nature park, they say there’s a great underwater world, it sounds fantastic! But by now take a look at our latest photos! Kisses, Viola and Heio
